Reports emanating from Italy today claim that the Reds are lining up a £22 million bid for Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri, with Jürgen Klopp keen on bolstering his options in that particular department, according to Italian media outlet Corriere Dello Sport.
Liverpool had their problems at the left side of defence last season, with James Milner filling in as an auxiliary left-back, but Alberto Moreno has returned to prominence this term, making 12 Premier League appearances for the Merseyside outfit.
Andrew Robertson was also brought to Anfield in the summer, but has made only two Premier League appearances. This suggests that maybe Klopp isn't 100 per cent happy with the Scot.
Roma's Emerson Palmieri
Corriere Dello Sport claim that the German is lining up a £22 million bid for Emerson Palmieri, as he looks to bolster his options ahead of such a physically demanding second half of the campaign.
The 23-year-old Brazilian is equally as competent when defending as he is surging forward, and would be a superb addition to the Liverpool squad.
And for just £22 million, he could turn out to be a real coup for the club.
