David Prutton has told Sky Sports that he feels that Leeds have turned a corner recently, and that Aston Villa would take a point when the two sides meet at Elland Road on Friday night.

The clash pits two of the Championship play-off chasers against each other. Thomas Christiansen's men are eighth in the table currently having been one of the pace-setters during the early weeks of the season, but they appear to be getting themselves back on track.

They beat Middlesbrough and Barnsley either side of a defeat to league leaders Wolves, and the performances in the two wins certainly suggest that they are rediscovering their early season form. But their next game will certainly provide a clearer indication of whether they are back to their best as they face a Villa side in brilliant form.

Steve Bruce's side have won their last three games and now sit fourth in the table, not far off the top two - they could move to within two points of the automatic-promotion spots with a win. But, while Prutton believes that Villa will be in the mix to push for the top two, he expects Friday's game to end in a stalemate.

"Now this is a big game to start the weekend, under the lights at Elland Road. Leeds seem to have turned a corner again lately, despite that loss at Wolves, and could really do with another victory here to put the pressure on those above them, including Aston Villa," he told Sky Sports while explaining why he is expecting a 1-1 draw.

"Steve Bruce's side are up near where they should be now, and will have their sights set on jumping above Sheffield United and, sooner or later, Cardiff. I think he'd settle for a draw here, though."

As Prutton suggests, it would not be a surprise if both teams would accept a draw given their respective positions in the table. Leeds took four points from their games with Villa last term and have home advantage so they will be optimistic, even though they are playing one of the division's in-form sides.

It could be a huge momentum-builder for either side should they come out on top at Elland Road. And with the Christmas period just around the corner, having that momentum could be huge for either team's promotion hopes.
