Rangers returned to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday evening, as they got the better of Aberdeen 3-0 at Ibrox.
James Tavernier was the star of the show for Rangers, as he scored two goals of the Gers.
The 26-year-old right-back found the net first in the seventh minute from the penalty spot and then on 70 minutes.
It was one of the former Newcastle United defender’s best performances of the season for Rangers, and his younger brother Marcus Tavernier was impressed.
Marcus Tavernier, 18, is on the books of Middlesbrough in the Championship in England at the moment, and the hugely talented and promising winger has sent Rangers left-back and his elder brother James Tavernier an amusing message on Twitter.
@James_Tavernier is that you yeh!!! I don’t know what kind of fufu you had tonight but just make sure you keep having it— Marcus Tavernier (@Tavernier60) November 29, 2017
Thoroughly deserved victory for Rangers, change of personnel and system worked a treat for Murty! Much needed positivity for the Ibrox side tonight.— Michael Stewart (@mstewart_23) November 29, 2017
The referee at Ibrox got so many decisions wrong it’s ridiculous. But Rangers were still the team on top tonight.— Michael Stewart (@mstewart_23) November 29, 2017
The win against Aberdeen means that Rangers are now third in the Scottish Premiership table with 27 points from 15 matches, seven points behind leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic, who have a game in hand.
