Everton are expected to appoint Sam Allardyce in the near future.

Sam Allardyce, Manager of Crystal Palace looks on prior to the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Hull City at Selhurst Park on May 14, 2017 in London, England.

With Sam Allardyce expected to become Everton boss in the near future, according to BBC Sport, his first action should be to drop Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and winger Kevin Mirallas.

Everton have been in abject form this season, and there have been few players to escape with much credit.

But Schneiderlin and Mirallas have been among the Toffees worst performers to date.

Morgan Schneiderlin of Everton fouls Maxwel Cornet of Lyon and is later awarded his second yellow of the game which led to his sending off during the UEFA Europa League group E match...

The pair have shown a terrible attitude throughout the season so far, and have looked unfazed by their team’s struggles on far too many occasions.

While some Everton players have come up short because of a lack of quality, Schneiderlin and Mirallas have seemingly failed to put in the required effort on the field.

Kevin Mirallas of Everton scores his team's second goal during the Premier League match between Everton and Manchester City at Goodison Park on January 15, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

The pair have taken a battering from supporters recently, and Allardyce would be wise to drop them soon after taking charge.

It will be important that Allardyce gives every Everton player a fresh start, of course, but dropping Schneiderlin and Mirallas will immediately send a message out that a lack of effort won’t be tolerated by him.

And that could be crucial, as the Toffees need every player giving their all, if they are to get out of trouble in the coming weeks.
