Rangers' shaky start to the season was initially tempered by the quick adaptation of striker Alfredo Morelos to Scottish football.
The Colombian made a big impact in the first few weeks at Ibrox, but his early success in Glasgow has waned.
He has not scored since September, and the Rangers ace is now being eclipsed by Celtic's Moussa Dembele... who missed the first few weeks of the season.
Dembele has been getting better by the week, and has now netted eight goals in 15 matches.
Morelos has the same figure, but has needed 19 games to score his eight goals - and three of Dembele's games have been against considerably tougher opposition in the Champions League.
Dembele has another slight edge too, he has provided three assists to Morelos' two.
Rangers fans had hoped Morelos could eclipse Dembele, and the Celtic star had given him a big early headstart this season.
But his slide in form and Dembele's impressive return has seen him catch the Colombian up already, and the Celtic star is likely to start pulling away from his Rangers rival.
