Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez appears to have wound up Huddersfield Town fans with his latest comments.
Benitez has suggested that Newcastle were unable to compete with Huddersfield for players in the transfer window.
The Spanish boss was speaking yesterday, with Newcastle struggling for form.
But Huddersfield fans feel that Benitez is searching for excuses, as he had plenty of money to spend in the summer.
If you add our last 2 seasons spending together it doesn’t even come close to what #nufc spent last summer in the championship #htafc #utt so to say you can’t compete financially with us is utter bollocks— Brid Terrier (@hungrus1) November 27, 2017
Then you must be asking the question IF Huddersfield can spend £5m to get promotion did Rafa spend £50m? Plus our players have stepped up to the PL whereas yours ain’t?— Brid Terrier (@hungrus1) November 27, 2017
Their wage bill last season was 60 mil ours 12 mil so how does that work— Jim Rushworth htfc (@JimRushworth) November 27, 2017
Our wage bill is £11m. Lowest in Prem. I think Rafa is delving for excuses.— Neil Waine (@BradfordTerrier) November 27, 2017
Wow what rubbish. Look at what #nufc spent last season compared to the rest of the league.— Rob Buckwell (@rob35311) November 27, 2017
If you or Raffa think Huddersfield can pay more in wages that @NUFC then he really needs help!! Seriously? Utter nonsense! Is the cold snap effecting your sanity?— Marko (@marko2807) November 27, 2017

Huddersfield do have the lowest wage budget in the Premier League, but they were significantly more active than Newcastle in the summer.
The Magpies boss was frustrated with the lack of money he had to spend on upgrading his team.
Newcastle did make some additions in the previous transfer window, but Benitez missed out on many of his first choice targets.
Newcastle are currently in 14th place in the Premier League table, while Huddersfield are in 11th.
Benitez's side are in action again later this evening, when they take on West Bromwich Albion.
