Former Arsenal forward Charlie Nicholas predicted on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News last Saturday afternoon (1:24pm, November 25, 2017) that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli will take two more years to become consistent.

Alli is one of the best young players in Europe and is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

The England international has been stunning for Spurs since his move from Milton Keynes Dons and has established himself as a key figure in Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

The 21-year-old, though, has been inconsistent this season, and some of his performances have been underwhelming.

Former Arsenal forward Nicholas believes that it will take Alli two more years to reach the level of consistency that people expect from him.

Ex-Manchester United and Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince has highlighted Alli’s age as the reason for his inconsistency.

Nicholas said about Alli on the Gillette Soccer Saturday show on Sky Sports News last Saturday afternoon (1:24pm, November 25, 2017): “I think it will be another two years where there will be little dips, and by the time he is like 23, 24, he should be really kicking on to the ultimate level of consistency. But he is still an exceptional talent.”

“You are going to get inconsistency with people so young,” Ince told BT Sport about Alli.

Tottenham will take on Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League this evening.
