Johansen, who was on the books of Celtic from 2014 until 2016 before he made the move to Fulham in the Championship in England, made the joke on a photo on Instagram in which Bitton was seen challenging Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar for the ball in the Champions League.
The picture on Instagram, which you can see in The Scottish Sun by clicking here, was meant as a tribute to Neymar, who is one of the best players in the world and could win the Ballon d’Or in the future.
However, Fulham central midfielder Johansen, 26, jokingly said that his former Celtic teammate Bitton could win it.
The picture was captioned: “Future #ballondor winner #neymar.”
Johansen jokingly wrote: “Yes you are @nir_bitton_.”
Bitton, 26, is not going to win the Ballon d’Or anytime soon, but the defensive midfielder is not going to be short of trophies in his career if he is going to remain at Celtic.
The Israel international, who has operated as a centre-back on occasions this season, has won the league title in Scotland four times, the Scottish League Cup thrice and the Scottish Cup once.
