Robert Snodgrass and Aston Villa take on Leeds United this weekend.
He struggled at West Ham United, but Robert Snodgrass' recent form at Aston Villa has been fantastic.
This Friday night Snodgrass and Aston Villa take on his former side Leeds United.
Snodgrass was a fan favourite at Elland Road between 2008 and 2012, and is still held in high regard at the club today.
When it became evident in the summer that West Ham were willing to send him out on loan, Leeds United fans pleaded with new owner Andrea Radrizzani on Twitter to do a deal.
Whether the Italian ignored these pleas, or was simply out-manoeuvred and outbid by Aston Villa is unclear, but Leeds' loss is Villa's gain.
Snodgrass is in red hot form, he has provided three assists in his last two games, while Villa have won three in a row.
The 30-year-old has scored twice and has five assists in 14 matches for the Villans, and has looked like a huge asset.
Leeds have a flying winger of their own - Ezgjan Alioski has scored four goals in his last four games, but at times their side has lacked the nous a experienced Championship player like Snodgrass could have provided.
It's hard to see how Snodgrass would not have improved Leeds' squad, with winger Hadi Sacko having next to no impact this season.
Snodgrass has a chance to make a big impression this Friday in front of a set of fans who still hold him in high regard, and in the form he is in, he will take some stopping.
