Leeds slipped to a loss to Burnley in the FA Youth Cup.

A general view during the Premier League match between Burnley and Huddersfield Town at Turf Moor on September 23, 2017 in Burnley, England.

Leeds United’s under-18 side slipped to a gallant defeat against Burnley last night at Turf Moor.

The Whites were beaten 1-0 after a late goal from the home side, despite controlling much of the game.

Leeds selected a strong side, with Jack Clarke and Kun Temenuzhkov leading the attack.

But the Whites were unable to make their dominance count, and were hit with a sucker punch from Burnley’s Jordan Cropper.

Leeds came close to claiming a late equaliser through Bobby Kamwa, who was denied by the opposition goalkeeper.

The defeat put to a swift end any hopes Leeds had of winning the FA Youth Cup for the first time since 1997.

But the team showed enough to suggest they may be able to mount a better challenge in seasons to come.

Supporters were enthused by the team’s confidence in possession and the style of play, and hope they were watching a few future first team stars in action.

A defeat was cruel to take for the young Leeds stars, but they won a few fans with their impressive performance.

Here is a look at Leeds fans’ reaction to the performance…
