West Bromwich Albion caretaker-manager Gary Megson has revealed to The Birmingham Mail that Tony Pulis was pleased with the team’s result against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

The Baggies played out a 1-1 draw with Tottenham away from home at the Wembley Stadium in London in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The visiting team made it hard for Spurs and were defensively very solid, and it was a point well earned.

Megson, who is in charge of West Brom at the moment following the dismissal of Pulis as the first-team manager, has revealed that he spoke to him after the match.

“He was pleased (about the result),” Megson told The Birmingham Mail about speaking to Pulis. “I rang him after the game because I’ve been in his position and the initial week or two when you’re used to being in football all the time and then it’s not there it’s suddenly ‘what do I do?’ I rang him to see how he was, he’s ok.”

West Brom are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and the point against Spurs will certainly help.

The Baggies now need to pick up some points and put together a run of positive results in order to pull away from the relegation pack.

West Brom will take on Newcastle United at The Hawthorns in the Premier League on Tuesday evening.
