Garth Crooks says Watford star should follow his manager if he heads to Everton.
Everton are refusing to give up on trying to poach Watford boss Marco Silva, and it is little surprise given their plight.
The Toffees are in a desperate run of form, sitting in 16th place, just two points above the relegation zone.
One of these is Will Hughes, who has burst into life over the past month and is showing why he was once one of England's most coveted teenagers.
Crooks named Hughes in his Team of the Week, and believes wherever Silva goes, he should follow.
He said: "The big question is will Silva stay at Vicarage Road or find himself drawn to Goodison Park?
"Whatever the outcome, Hughes needs to tie himself to Silva's apron strings and go wherever he goes. The man has something Hughes clearly needs."
Given the way England boss Gareth Southgate has handed chances to young players, it is not out of the question that Hughes' performances land him an international call.
His best hope should be that Marco Silva stays put, because if he did move to Everton, the Hornets would not make it easy for the manager to nab their best players too, especially one they invested in just months ago.
