West Ham fans savage David Gold on Twitter after bizarre tweet

West Ham United owners David Sullivan and David Gold look on prior to the Premier League match between Burnley and West Ham United at Turf Moor on May 21, 2017 in Burnley, England.

West Ham United have endured a miserable campaign thus far.

David Gold, owner looks on prior to the Premier League match between West Ham United and Liverpool at London Stadium on May 14, 2017 in Stratford, England.

Hammers co-owner took to Twitter today to highlight the fact that West Ham are inside the top 20 highest payers in European football.

The east London outfit have often been criticised for paying their players far too much money, so Gold's move to highlight this fact seems strange to say the least.

The Hammers currently sit in 18th position in the Premier League table, after their woeful return of just 10 points from their opening 13 League games, and Gold, alongside fellow co-owner David Sullivan have incurred the wrath of the London Stadium faithful.
