Everton-owned Barnsley midfielder Joe Williams has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to his side’s defeat to Leeds United this weekend.
Barnsley suffered a 2-0 defeat to Leeds at home in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from Samuel Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski in the first half proved to be the difference between the two sides at Oakwell.
Williams, who joined Barnsley on loan from Premier League club Everton in the summer transfer window, has apologised to the fans for the final result.
The 20-year-old midfielder has admitted that Barnsley were not good enough against Leeds.
Gutted about the result Not good enough at all today, sorry to the fans who were class again we will look to put it right on Tuesday.— Joe Williams (@JoeWilliams0812) November 25, 2017
Williams’s post on Twitter underlines just how good Leeds were against Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.
The Whites were the better side from start to finish and deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter.
Leeds have a much better team than Barnsley, and it showed on Saturday afternoon.
Williams’s message speaks volumes about the Whites and how they dominated against their Yorkshire rivals on their own turf.
