Newcastle United were beaten 3-0 by Watford at St. James’ Park yesterday.

Newcastle were below par, as Watford played them off the park at St. James’ Park yesterday.
And the third goal irked Newcastle legend Shearer, in particular.
Watford broke on Newcastle to seal the victory, when Richarlison crossed the ball in for Andre Gray to poke home from close range, and Shearer felt that both Yedlin and Manquillo did not do enough to stop the attack.

He said: “The third goal is an embarrassment for Newcastle. Yedlin and Manquillo don’t bother at all to get back in. If Watford had their shooting boots on, it could have been six or seven.”
Newcastle have generally competed well since their return to the Premier League, but their defeat to Watford was worrying.

Rafael Benitez’s side were miles off the pace, as their poor form continued.
Newcastle have now lost their last four matches in succession, to fall down to 13th in the Premier League table.
