Some Sheffield United supporters want their former midfielder Kevin McDonald brought back to Bramall Lane from Fulham in January.
McDonald spent two seasons on Sheffield United's books, but left for the Blades then League One rivals, Wolverhampton Wanderers, in August 2013.
After winning promotion that season, the Scot has since established himself as one of the Championship's best midfielders, moving on to Fulham, with whom he reached the play-offs last season, in August 2016.
But with Sheffield United on the lookout for Paul Coutts replacements this winter, after the 29-year-old suffered a broken leg against Burton Albion last week, some Blades fans see McDonald - who is out of contract in 18 months' time - as the perfect fit.
Others - such as those who booed the Fulham player during Tuesday's 5-4 defeat to the London side - will surely disagree, however, with his Bramall Lane exit continuing to leave a sour taste.
Would you take McDonald back at Sheffield 2? The following Unitedites certainly would...
I’d have McDonald back in a heart beat. He was part of #sufc when it was on its knees. Attendances suggest it wasn’t just the players who didn’t want to be at Bramall Lane, so im fine he left for £££ & career reasons. #twitterblades— Davis Bentley (@DavisSkoda) 22 November 2017
Imagine what Wilder could turn Kevin McDonald into? That lad would be frighteningly good if he could be bothered. Never made a bad pass tonight and turned several blades the wrong way all while being about a stone overweight. #twitterblades #ffc— KarKeys (@TheKarKeys) 21 November 2017
He was good tonight and was when he played for us..always rated him— Sarah Jane (@Georgiecrumble) 22 November 2017
We need a couple of super fast forwards like Fulham had, best team I’ve seen at the Lane in a long time. Kevin McDonald would be a fantastic addition in Jan, identical to COUTTS ⚪️⚔️ great game lovin it COYRAWW— steve taylor (@steve_staylor) 22 November 2017
With coutts out would it be worth putting in a bid for Kevin McDonald at Fulham?— Lee_87blade (@lee_87blade) 21 November 2017
I don't think you could go far wrong with Kevin McDonald as a replacement for Coutts. Eye for a pass. Good on the ball. Knows the club. #sufc ⚔⚪️— Lee Barber (@ItsLeeBarber) 19 November 2017
