Leeds United failed to make it back-to-back wins in the Championship on Wednesday evening, as they went down 4-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home.
The Whites headed into the match at the Molineux Stadium on the back of a 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough at Elland Road in the league.
Wolves, though, maintained their rampant form and got the better of the West Yorkshire outfit 4-1.
The Wanderers were the better side over the course of the 90 minutes, although the sending-off of Ronaldo Vieira on the hour mark did help them.
The Leeds midfielder was dismissed for two bookable offences, and that pretty much extinguished the Whites’ chances of getting anything from the match.
The result at the Molineux Stadium on Wednesday means that Wolves are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 41 points from 18 matches, while Leeds are as low as 10th in the standings with 26 points from 18 games.
The following two photos from Wednesday’s game sum up the contrasting situations of Leeds and Wolves at the moment - while one side are flying high, the other are struggling.
