Tottenham Hotspur fans have mocked Gareth Bale, after his post on social media website Twitter last night.

Bale quickly put up a tweet congratulating his Real Madrid side for battering APEOL 6-0 in Champions League action yesterday.

However, Tottenham fans were quick to remind Bale that it was his former side who had finished at the top of the group.

Tottenham confirmed that they will finish above Madrid in their Champions League group by beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 yesterday.

Spurs have made remarkable progress in Europe this year, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side still unbeaten in the Champions League.

Spurs actually went behind against Borussia Dortmund, but they fought back admirably.

Harry Kane scored with a fine finish for Spurs, before Heung Min Son confirmed the three points with a great strike.

Tottenham’s last match in the competition comes against APOEL, when Pochettino is free to name a weakened line-up, with Spurs’ position as group winners confirmed.
