Report: Celtic interested in signing Liam Moore from Reading

According to a report in the Daily Record, Celtic are set to target Reading Liam Moore in the January transfer window.

Celtic are determined to strengthen their central defensive options at the next opportunity, as Rodgers feels it is the weakest position in his current squad.

Rodgers has publicly spoken of his frustration at being unable to pick a consistent pairing in the centre of Celtic’s defence this term, due to injuries.

And it seems that Rodgers believes that Moore could improve the Bhoys’ backline.

Moore has been rock solid for Reading over the last two campaigns, and at 24-years-old, he still has room to develop.

Moore is thought to be valued at £5 million, and Celtic are prepared to meet that asking price.

Celtic are already dominating the Scottish Premiership, but Rodgers is determined not to let his side rest on their laurels.

The Bhoys will be hoping that they are still playing European football in 2018, and could require more depth of quality, if they are in the Europa League.
