Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp worked with Gareth Bale, during his time in charge of the North London club.
Bale has suffered badly with injuries at Real Madrid in recent times, and speculation over his future is mounting.
Madrid could be tempted to cash in on Bale over the summer transfer window, and a return to Tottenham has been spoken about.
Bale is regarded as one of Tottenham’s finest ever players, but there are serious complications in doing a deal to bring the Welsh international back to North London.
Bale has increased his reputation and wages hugely since his move to the Bernabeu, and Spurs would have to break their salary cap to sign him.
However, Redknapp feels that Spurs should be doing everything in their power to snap up Bale, as he could win them the Premier League.
“He could make a difference,” Redknapp said. “He could win the title for you. Keeping him fit is the problem, but if he’s fit and playing he can be the difference between finishing third, fourth or fifth and winning it.”
Tottenham have finished just short of winning the Premier League title over the last two seasons, as their wait for silverware has continued.
Spurs look to be among the leading contenders to finish top once again this time around, but catching Manchester City will be a tough test.
