Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has suggested to talkSPORT that Marco Silva should not leave Watford for Everton.

According to talkSPORT, Everton are interested in appointing Silva as their new manager.

It has been reported that the Hornets have rejected an approach from the Toffees for the 40-year-old.

Silva was appointed the Watford manager in the summer of 2017 following his departure from Hull City.

The Portuguese coach has done a wonderful job at Vicarage Road so far this season, and former Palace chairman Jordan has suggested that Silva should not jump ship.

“I think he’s gone into Watford and he is doing a decent job there,” Jordan told talkSPORT. “It’s tempting for him.

“If he’s got any proper advisors around him and thinking of his own, he will know that managerial careers are built around upon a degree of integrity and reliability.

“Dropping out of the Watford job at such an early tenure when the first big job comes along will not do him any favours in the long run."

Everton are a massive club and it would be a step-up for Silva to leave Watford for the Toffees.

However, the Toffees are not in great state on the pitch, and there will also be a lot of pressure on the Portuguese.

Given the start that Watford have made to the Premier League season, it would be wise of Silva to remain at Vicarage Road until the end of the season.
