Everton are reportedly interested in appointing Watford boss Marco Silva as their new manager.

Former Rangers and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ray Wilkins suggested on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (06:22am, November 14, 2017) that Marco Silva should not leave Watford for Everton.

According to talkSPORT, Everton are interested in appointing Silva as their new manager.

It has been reported that the Hornets have rejected an approach from the Toffees for the 40-year-old.

David Unsworth is in charge of the Everton first-team at the moment, having been appointed the interim manager following the departure of Ronald Koeman.

Everton are struggling in the Premier League at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Silva was appointed the Watford manager in the summer of 2017 following his departure from Hull City.

The Portuguese failed to prevent Hull from getting relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan recently told talkSPORT that Silva should not leave Watford for Everton.

Former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Wilkins is of a similar opinion and said on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (06:22am, November 14, 2017): “I do agree with Simon in the fact that he should stay there and he should give it a real blast. I think what he has done at Watford already since the start of the season has been fantastic.”
