Thomas, who was once on the books of Rangers' Glasgow rivals, tweeted that he would "never in a million years" play for the Ibrox outfit.
Rangers fans have turned the joke around on Dominic Thomas.
A post from the Kilmarnock midfielder, in which he stated he would "never in a million years" play for Rangers, went viral on Twitter yesterday.
Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths among the 3,800 people to have liked it so far, but several Rangers supporters have since pointed out the message to which Thomas' replied was not meant for him in the first place.
Thomas was tagged in the original post after his Scotland Under 21 team mate Oli McBurnie, who is reported to be a Rangers supporter.
However, it would appear the 21 year old, who was on Celtic's books as a youngster, was too excited to realise his mistake.
And his mentions are now clogged with Rangers fans, who are either spelling it out, telling Thomas they do not want him anyway, or simply wondering who he is.
