The 23-year-old lead the Three Lions into battle on Friday night, as Gareth Southgate's men drew 0-0 against Germany with the likes of Dier, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Jordan Pickford all impressing.
England announced on their official Twitter account that Dier would wear the armband against Brazil.
The captaincy going into the international break was up for debate after Harry Kane and Jordan Henderson pulled out of the squad to face Joachim Low's side, while Gary Cahill and Joe Hart started from the bench.
Now, former Sporting Lisbon ace Dier has been given the nod to retain the captaincy by manager Southgate, in what will be a difficult test for England at Wembley.
England have won only one of their last 10 meetings with Brazil, with Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney scoring to win 2-1 back in February 2013. The last match ended in a 2-2 draw, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rooney finding the net.
Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to the news that Dier would wear the armband for a second time in England colours, with one fan even claiming that he "has to be made permanent captain".
Before all of you moan, actually look through the squad and dier is the only option for this international break— Henry (@henryfair) November 13, 2017
Great choice. A young leader.— Edd (@ed_e77) November 13, 2017
He has to be the permanent captain— ritualsspursman (@ritualsspursma1) November 13, 2017
On the one hand, happy for Dier, but why is Southgate starting him in both friendlies. With Toby & Wanyama out, we're relying on Winks getting/staying fit. Dembele isn't 100% either. They're only friendlies.— BornAsTheKingOfWHL (@BornAsTheKing61) November 13, 2017
Superb news and thoroughly deserved. Dier is boss!! https://t.co/ma3MXpdco9— Mark Pipe (@Pipey78) November 13, 2017
