Rangers fans have been reacting on Twitter to the reports linking them with a move for Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill following the national team's exit from the World Cup qualifiers.
Despite an incredibly spirited showing in Basel, Northern Ireland were unable to overturn the 1-0 deficit from their play-off first-leg clash with Switzerland, and there now appears to be major question marks surrounding whether O'Neill will stay for the next qualifying campaign, or whether he will seek a new challenge.
One club reportedly considering offering O'Neill that fresh challenge is Rangers - who are still without a manager after parting company with Pedro Caixinha last month.
The Scottish Sun reports that the Gers are monitoring O'Neill's situation, and that has prompted plenty of discussion amongst the supporters on social media.
O'Neill's stock has risen dramatically during his time at the helm at Windsor Park, and there are a number of fans who have been impressed by the way that the 48-year-old has managed to get everything out of his squad.
However, with not much experience as a club manager, and none on the level of the Scottish Premiership, there are also a number of supporters who would clearly need to be won over if O'Neill was appointed as they are unconvinced that he would be the right man to take them forward.
Here is the best of the mixed reaction...
Michael O’Neill has managed Brechin City and Shamrock Rovers in his entire club management career. Next Rangers Manager?— Hall (@Hall_1872) 12 November 2017
Please no to Michael O'Neill as our next manager , decent guy but rangers require better— gersbear69 (@gersbear) 12 November 2017
Michael O'Neill has done a terrific job with Northern Ireland no question but I don't want him at Rangers. Completely different jobs/pressure altogether.— Kirsten (@kirsten93_) 12 November 2017
Would happily take Michael O’Neill at Rangers or Scotland.— Euan Taylor (@euangtaylor) 12 November 2017
Please stay away from rangers O’Neill— Kayleigh Kelman (@kayleighkelman) 12 November 2017
A few hours ago I didn't want Michael O'Neill as the manager of Rangers but after watching his players play like that with heart and passion we could do alot worse.— Rangers Bantz (@RangersBantz) 12 November 2017
If we could get him Michael O'Neill would be my pick for Rangers manager. The effort he gets out of his players is incredible.— Stewart Thomson (@stewbacca51) 12 November 2017
It wouldn't inspire me as an appointment.— Colin Armstrong (@moonman1873) 12 November 2017
Would certainly be a better appointment than quite a few of the names being touted...— Craig Thomas (@C_W_Thomas) 12 November 2017
