There are likely to be a number of changes to the Newcastle team as they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

After a bright start to the season, Newcastle United’s season has threatened to tail off with back-to-back defeats to Burnley and Bournemouth.
And their problems are unlikely to be eased by the prospect of facing Manchester United on Saturday.
Rafa Benitez has quite the history with both Jose Mourinho and the Old Trafford club – and the former Liverpool boss will undoubtedly be looking to spring a surprise this weekend…

Rob Elliot has withdrawn from Republic of Ireland’s squad due to a family bereavement – per the Chronicle (12.16) – but he will be expected to continue in goal unless heard otherwise, although there will be changes in front of the goalkeeper.
Jamaal Lascelles hobbled out of the Bournemouth game, giving Ciaran Clark another opportunity, while Paul Dummett is back in training and would represent a serious upgrade on Javier Manquillo if he is fully fit in time for Saturday.
Christian Atsu was also injured in the last Premier League match, while Mikel Merino remains out. Jacob Murphy and Rolando Aarons will battle for a left-wing role, with the former seemingly ahead at this stage.
At Old Trafford, it is unlikely Benitez will start with a front two as he did against the Cherries and so Ayoze Perez could return. Joselu has a physical advantage over Dwight Gayle at the home of a powerful title contender.
