Manchester City are reportedly showing interest in Jann-Fiete Arp. Tottenham Hotspur must act quickly.
The 17-year-old is one of the most prolific forwards in his age range, and has made an instant impact at the senior level, scoring two goals in just three Bundesliga appearances so far this season.
The Germany under-17 international scored from the bench in his second game against Hertha Berlin, and notched up another goal against VfB Stuttgart.
Arp is an exceptional young talent who scores goals for fun– his 37 goals in 45 appearances for Hamburg's under-17s shows quality.
He is a lethal finisher and could develop into a world class player in time, and that is why the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are tracking his progress already.
Earlier this month, the Daily Mail reported that Tottenham are tracking the progress of the player. Spurs are likely to keep a close eye on his development between now and January, and the player's contract situation could raise the possibility of a bargain deal.
Spurs have the likes of Harry Kane and Fernando Llorente in their ranks, and as such another established international to compete with them makes little sense.
Arp is a player for the future. However, the most important thing here is to get his signature, and that is why Spurs should move quickly ahead of other rivals.
