Everton fans have criticised David Unsworth over his treatment of Nikola Vlasic.
The attacking midfielder said: “It was good at the beginning when I came, but the coach changed.
“I haven’t talked to the new coach about why I’m not playing, it is about professionalism: you do not play, you do not play, you’re on the bench and that’s it, there is no story.”
And Everton fans are of the opinion that Vlasic did not deserve to be taken out of their first-team, as he was one of their brighter stars over the early part of the season.
How unprofessional is Unsworth?? You must involve all players. Seriously bad management and shows he is totally wrong for the top job. In management you involve everyone and give everyone the chance to impress. Unsworth not for me!!— Simo EFC (@ian0151) November 12, 2017
Love Unsworth but he must involve Vlasic— WarrenTaylor (@warrent_98) November 12, 2017
I love him, I hope he plays, lookman too, or we’ll loose players like them— Trevor P Malcolmson (@trevor_p_malco) November 12, 2017
This kid must start— Jay (@1878Doyle) November 12, 2017
Agree. Or at least be told why he's not playing. Unworthy clearing not 'managing' the player— SGC (@LordSGC) November 12, 2017
I think he's a bit more annoyed than he's letting on, and rightly so. Its ridiculous why he isn't in the team for us, yet is called up for Croatia. Its this stuff which puts me off Unsy getting the job— Tom Fox (@TomFox87) November 12, 2017
Would be a shame if we let this lad go, He’s definitely talented— COME ON YOU BLUES! (@Tezza_c1878) November 12, 2017
Vlasic featured fairly prominently under Ronald Koeman, but he has not even been in a match day squad since Unsworth took temporary charge.
Vlasic’s exclusion has come as a shock, as he was one of the few positives for Everton over the early part of the campaign.
The Croatian looked lively, and seemed to have plenty to offer the Toffees, but Unsworth clearly feels he has better options in his squad.
Vlasic still may have hope for the near future at Goodison Park, as Everton are looking for a new manager.
The Toffees have still not made a permanent replacement for Ronald Koeman, with an appointment expected in the coming days.
