Burnley boss Sean Dyche is the current favourite for the Everton job, so should one of his impressive Clarets players be on his radar if he goes?

According to a recent report from The Times, Sean Dyche has become the front-runner for the Everton job as the Toffees’ search for their new manager continues.

Dyche has been discussed by fans and pundits alike as a potential contender for the job since Ronald Koeman was sacked by the club last month it seems, so perhaps this latest report hints that Everton may now be hoping to step up their search.

If Dyche does get the job, it would be no surprise to see the Englishman consider if there are any of his Burnley players worth targeting given how well the Clarets have performed this season.

One player who may not jump off the page as an obvious target, but could arguably be a decent addition to the Toffees squad given their current lack of width is Johann Berg Gudmundsson.

Gudmundsson has impressed from the right-hand side of midfield this season, and has really stepped up in recent weeks, contributing three assists in his last four Premier League appearances for Burnley.

He would probably not be the kind of signing that gets the fans too excited, but he would arguably help fill a void within the Everton squad that currently exists, and if he was able to replicate his recent form for Burnley after following Dyche to Everton – should Dyche get the job and target the Iceland international – then he would arguably be a smart addition to the squad.
