Rey moved to Leeds United from Barcelona in the summer.
Leeds United's Under-23s drew 1-1 with their Nottingham Forest counterparts at the City Ground on Wednesday afternoon.
The Whites took the lead with only seven minutes on the clock and in spectacular fashion, as Spanish defender Oriol Rey showed excellent technique to volley home a lose ball from the edge of the 18-yard box.
But Forest - who included former Leeds striker Lewis Walters in their starting eleven - drew level five minutes after half-time when Virgil Gomis poked home from close range, following a cross from Danny Preston.

It was Rey's first in Leeds colours, having moved to Elland Road from Spanish giants Barcelona in August.
Fellow summer recruits Bryce Hosannah and Ousama Siddiki also started against Forest, with Adrian Balboa and Alex Machuca on the bench.
The result against the Reds means Carlos Corberan's side have now failed to win three of their last four fixtures.
