Report issues encouraging update regarding Tottenham's Harry Winks' injury

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks has had to withdraw from the England squad due to injury.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Tottenham have received a slight boost regarding Harry Winks as scans on his ankle injury have shown that the problem is not as serious as first feared

Winks has had to withdraw from the England squad for their upcoming friendlies with Germany and Brazil after being taken off at half-time during Spurs' Premier League win over Crystal Palace at Wembley on Sunday.

With the North London derby with Arsenal Tottenham's first game following the international break, some supporters may have been worried regarding Winks' chances of being involved at the Emirates.

However, while Sky Sports does not suggest how long he will be out for, it appears that he may be back sooner than the club may have initially expected, as scans have shown that the problem is not serious and there has been no ligament damage.

The news will undoubtedly be a boost for Mauricio Pochettino as Winks' emergence has been one of the most pleasant surprises of the season for Tottenham.

The 21-year-old has shone on a number of occasions, and it would be no surprise if he shines against the Gunners if he is fit enough to play a part in the clash.
