Portsmouth's Matt Clarke has caught the eye of Premier League sides Watford and Brighton & Hove Albion, the Mirror reports on page 46 of its printed edition on Monday.
The tabloid claims the pair are keeping tabs on Clarke, a 21-year-old centre-back.
The former Ipswich Town trainee first moved to Fratton Park two years ago on loan, and the transfer was made permanent last summer, as part of the deal that saw Adam Webster head in the opposite direction.
Clarke was a regular as Portsmouth clinched the League Two title last season and has played every single minute for Kenny Jackett's since his return to the starting eleven in early September.
Jackett, of course, spent his entire playing career at Watford, and may be more inclined to lose Clarke to Vicarage Road than Brighton.
A move to Brighton, however, would be slightly more convenient from a geographical perspective.
Left-footer Clarke is under contract until 2019 at Portsmouth.
Would Clarke be a good signing for Watford / Brighton?
