Balague claimed on social networking site Twitter earlier this month that Everton had made contact regarding Nuno taking the managerial role at Goodison Park.
Everton have contacted Nuno as ONE OF the potential candidates to replace Koeman. His agent Jorge Mendes is listening, no decision made yet pic.twitter.com/teRN5nOQ8d— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) November 1, 2017
The Sky Sports journalist has suggested that although the former Valencia head coach’s representatives passed on the Merseyside’s interest to him, the 43-year-old himself decided not to take it any further and turned it down.
Balague told Sky Sports: “The answers from his representatives were like, ‘Interesting. I will pass that on’.
Nuno is a very good manager who is working wonders at Wolves, who look set to finish in the top two of the Championship this season.
The Wanderers appointed the former FC Porto manager in the summer of 2017, and it has proved to be a great decision.
Everton are a massive club, but Wolves are a big club as well, and Nuno has the chance to do something special at the Molineux Stadium, not just this season but in years to follow.
