The Tottenham Hotspur youngsters won against their Real Madrid counterparts on Wednesday.
Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed one of the greatest nights in their history on Wednesday, as they got the better of Real Madrid 3-1 at home.
Most football followers would have predicted Madrid to at least pick up a point from their Champions League game at the Wembley Stadium in London.
After all, Los Blancos are the defending European champions and have one of the strongest squads in the world.
However, Spurs were the better team from start to finish and deservedly won to book their place in the last-16 stage of the Champions League.
Interestingly, the Tottenham youngsters also won against their Madrid counterparts earlier on Wednesday.
The Spurs youngsters defeated Madrid 3-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre in the UEFA Youth League, thanks to goals from Japhet Tanganga, Marcus Edwards and Kazaiah Sterling.
Edwards is a young player who will be well known to the Spurs fans. The 18-year-old midfielder has already made his competitive debut for the Tottenham first team and is hugely talented.
On Wednesday, the England Under-20 international passed the ball well, scored from the penalty spot and set up Sterling.
Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Edwards on Wednesday.
Below are some of the best comments:
Good game but Marcus Ewdwards body attitude stinks. Won’t make it under Poch’s philosophy.— Alex (@AlexKyri_) 1 November 2017
Every time he lost the ball he just walks and don’t sprint/job back to try and win it back.— Alex (@AlexKyri_) 1 November 2017
Edwards through ball was exquisite— Hamid (@HamidTHFC) 1 November 2017
