Ajax's David Neres
Sky Sports reported that Justin Kluivert and Donny van de Beek were two of the players Spurs were watching from the Eredivisie giants, who have a long history of bringing some incredibly talented starlets through the ranks down the years.
But surely it is a matter of time before one of their teammates comes onto Tottenham's radar if they continue to watch Ajax closely and he continues his current run of brilliant form.
David Neres arrived in Amsterdam in January of this year from Sao Paulo, and his form this season has been sensational.
The 20-year-old has generally played on the right of a front three, and currently tops the club's goalscoring charts with five goals in just eight league appearances.
Neres' statistics arguably become even more impressive when you consider that he has only started five times, with a further three appearances coming from the bench, and he has managed to contribute four assists for the side.
It is perhaps too soon for Tottenham to consider making a move for Neres, given that he has been at the Amsterdam ArenA for less than a year.
But if he continues to make such a devastating impact as he gains more experience for Ajax, and Tottenham continue to instruct representatives to watch the Dutch club closely, then it would surely be surprising if he is not soon joining Kluivert and van de Beek on the Premier League side's radar.
