Former Sheffield United star Curtis Woodhouse has hit out at a comparison between Mark Noble and David Batty.
A Twitter follower suggested to Woodhouse that West Ham stalwart Noble is a 'modern day David Batty', referring to the former Leeds United fan favourite.
Ex-footballer turned boxer Woodhouse provided a hard hitting response, stating that there was a big difference between the pair.
David Batty was so much better than Mark Noble. In today's market David Batty goes for 50 million quid. Top top player https://t.co/KjF0uTX9NW— Curtis Woodhouse (@curtiswoodhous8) October 25, 2017
Batty was part of the Leeds United team which reached the Champions League semi-finals at the turn of the Millennium.
He won the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers in 1994/95, and also played for England at the World Cup.
Noble, much to the frustration of West Ham fans, has never been called into the England squad and may never get the opportunity at this stage of his career.
This has led to fans feeling he is under appreciated and has not been given the platform to showcase his talents despite more than a decade of consistency at his boyhood club.
