Everton and West Ham United could both be left disappointed if they were hoping to appoint Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager as the Italian has entered talks with Guangzhou Evergrande, according to Chinese publication Nanfang.

The Sun reports that the Toffees were considering Ancelotti as a permanent successor to the recently sacked Ronald Koeman, while the Daily Mail have previously linked the Hammers with the 58-year-old should they dismiss Slaven Bilic.

However, it seems the former Bayern Munich boss – who was axed by the Bundesliga champions himself in September after losing 3-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League – is in discussions about replacing Luiz Felipe Scolari at Guangzhou.

Current caretaker David Unsworth is the favourite to take charge at Goodison Park at 2/1 with Skybet, while ex-Manchester City chief Manuel Pellegrini is the 100/30 frontrunner with the same bookmakers to succeed Bilic at West Ham.

Either way it seems that Ancelotti, who has previously managed Chelsea, will not be making his return to the Premier League anytime soon.

In fact it is believed that the former AC Milan, PSG and Real Madrid boss would prefer to take a break from European football and that is why he is drawn to the prospect of taking a job in China.
