Leeds United won comfortably against Bristol City this weekend.
While the rumours linking Aden Flint with a summer switch to Leeds United appeared to be nothing more than Twitter tittle-tattle - at least according to Bristol City manager Lee Johnson - there were many Whites fans who wanted to see the centre-back arrived at Elland Road last summer.
Instead Leeds signed Matthew Pennington on loan from Everton while Liam Cooper proved many of his doubters wrong with some impressive early-season performances.
That duo lined up for Leeds in Saturday's match against Bristol City and they did not disappoint, keeping a clean sheet as Samu Saiz and Pierre-Michel Lasogga did the business at the opposite end to secure a 3-0 win.
It was a torrid afternoon for Flint and his City teammates as they were overrun by an exciting Leeds' forward line that looks to have rediscovered its mojo at just the right time.
Flint should not be judged on a single performance and there will still be some Leeds supporters out there who would love to see the experienced stopper in their starting XI. But he will have lost plenty of fans after this showing.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what fans thought of Flint's performance against Leeds and you can read a selection of what we found below:
@AFlint4 Act the big man against berardi you’ll get dropped. When you become a white in January you will be one of us— Craig Walters (@craigw_lufc) October 21, 2017
@AFlint4 I hope every player knows how let down the fans feel we bottle it in every big game— mildred (@ashtonciders) October 21, 2017
Looks like flint wasn't good enough for leeds either on todays showing— Tony Fitzgerald (@ScottTonyfitz11) October 21, 2017
To be fair to Leeds, deserved that, no complaints. Midfield not good enough, Flint shocking for the first two goals, and no threat up front.— Ashley Jacamo (@_ashleyjackson_) October 21, 2017
