Much was expected of the Austria international when he arrived at the London Stadium, but the former Werder Bremen attacker has failed to make a big impact for Slaven Bilic’s side.

Arnautovic, who can also operate as a forward, has yet to score or provide one assist in the Premier League for the Hammers.

The attacker was booed off when he was substituted during West Ham’s 3-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Friday evening.

“There was no emergency meeting called for Saturday, with co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold reluctant to make a knee-jerk decision,” states the report in The Telegraph.

“But the club are alarmed at the start to the season and, in particular, the form of Bilic’s big summer signings – especially Marko Arnautovic who has struggled since his move from Stoke City for a fee which could rise to £24million.”
