Liverpool and Everton fans discuss shock Danny Ings rumours on Twitter

Report suggests Everton have enquired about the possibility of taking Danny Ings on loan from Merseyside rivals Everton in January.

Will Danny Ings really become the first player to swap the red of Liverpool for the Blue of Everton since Gary Ablett made the lonely trek across Stanley Park back in 1992?

According to TEAMtalk, Everton certainly hope so. The report claims that Ings has until now and January to prove his fitness and form to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. If he fails to do so, he may be loaned out in January.

And Merseyside rivals Everton are understood to have enquired about the signature of a striker who is also on the radar of Southampton, Crystal Palace and Watford.

The Toffees certainly need a centre-forward having netted just five times in eight Premier League games so far this season but whether Liverpool would let one of their men, even a fringe player like Ings, move across the city remains to be seen.

The 25-year-old could make his first Premier League appearance for Liverpool in almost a year-and-a-half in the near future with the former Burnley man recovering at last from a second serious knee injury suffered since getting his big break at Anfield in 2015.

Considering that the goal-shy Reds have just one win in nine games, many fans want to see him be given the chance. But, strangely enough, even the Everton fans don’t appear too convinced with reports of a stunning January move to Goodison Park.
