Liverpool fans on Twitter are claiming that they would love to have Rafael Benitez at the helm once again.
However, the Newcastle manager has been linked with replacing Ronald Koeman at Everton and Slaven Bilic at West Ham United in recent weeks.
Liverpool are eighth in the table following Saturday's bore draw with Manchester United at Anfield to ensure Jurgen Klopp's side have only one win in their last five Premier League outings.
The German manager spent £80 million on players during the summer but the Merseyside club haven't shown major signs of improving from last season.
And Liverpool fans would love if Benitez - who won a Champions League for the club back in 2005 - would replace the former Borussia Dortmund boss.
If Everton get Rafa Benitez an we get stuck with Klopp I'll be gutted. He's twice as good as him.— James (@JA_Onion_Bhajis) October 15, 2017
Newcastle will be sound with Benitez in charge..... I’d have him back over Klopp in a heart beat— Jay Sheridan (@JaySheridan22) October 15, 2017
I remember in 2010 and Benitez had one poor season in six years and people wanted him out. Since that moment, Liverpool haven't recovered.— John (@John24081990) October 15, 2017
I'd take Rafa Benitez back at Liverpool in the morning.— Emmy (@EmmettHensey) October 15, 2017

Klopp, who replaced Brendan Rodgers on Merseyside three years ago, is yet to win a trophy at Liverpool.
