Alli was guilty of diving when Spurs beat Huddersfield Town 4-0 at the John Smith’s Stadium just over a fortnight ago, but he avoided retrospective punishment.
Watford’s Richarlison may not be so lucky, as the Brazilian has been accused of going down too easily against Arsenal.
The forward went down under a challenge from Hector Bellerin to earn Watford a penalty in their 2-1 victory over the Gunners at the weekend.
There have now been calls for Richarlison to be banned, but Barton claims that if the Watford man is suspended then Alli should serve a similar punishment.
“This is the issue and I know they do it up in Scotland. But if you don’t ban Dele Alli last week, how do you ban Richarlison? Because it’s definitely worse than Richarlison,” Barton said.
Alli was even criticised by Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino for his actions against Huddersfield.
Alli has continued to play for Spurs, despite his recent case of simulation, and helped Pochettino’s side win 1-0 against Bournemouth at the weekend.
