Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen could and probably should give Stuart Dallas a rare start when Reading visit Elland Road on Saturday.

The Northern Irish winger has started one of Leeds' 11 Championship games this season and he could be forgiven for wondering why he isn't playing more regularly.

But Saturday might throw up an opportunity for the 26-year-old to impress.

Egzjan Alioski started in that left-wing role for the 3-0 demolition at Sheffield Wednesday but had little effect.

In truth, the Macedonia international has gone downhill since returning from the last international break, so starting him there again - especially ahead of Dallas - would be criminal from Christiansen.

Kemar Roofe is another left-wing option but the 24-year-old, who is Leeds' top goalscorer this season with six, has proven that he is more dangerous up front than he is from a wide role.

Dallas, who has scored two Championship goals this season, has the defensive and attacking qualities which the Whites lack from other options.

And a three-year deal handed to him by Director of Football Victor Orta last month illustrates that he has a role to play at Leeds, even if Christiansen doesn't think so at this moment in time.
