Bournemouth defender Simon Francis has hailed Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane as world class.
AFC Bournemouth defender Simon Francis has showered praise on Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane ahead of their Premier League clash on Saturday.
The 32-year-old defender has hailed Kane as “world class”. He said that the England international is the “best striker” he has come across in the Premier League.
The former Sheffield United defender also added that Kane is gradually reaching the levels of Neymar, Messi, Suarez and Ronaldo.
However, Francis is determined to keep Kane in check when the two sides meet at Wembley on Saturday after the international break.
“Harry is not shy of goals against us that is for sure, but that is our job to keep him out," said Francis, as quoted by The Mirror.
“If you do not enjoy these challenges, you are in the wrong profession. The lads love these kind of games against big teams away from home — and we have caused upsets before.
“He is the best striker I have come across in the Premier League and on his day he is world class.
“He has got that ability and is quickly getting to where you can talk about him in the same breath as Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez and Neymar. With his goal-scoring record alone you have to put him in that bracket."
Indeed, Kane is playing at a high level, and he is going through a rich vein of form at the moment.
The 24-year-old has scored 15 goals in all competitions (including international games) so far, and has scored in seven of his last eight games.
Spurs are third in the Premier League with 14 points, five points behind both the Manchester clubs.
However, they are yet to win a game at their temporary home Wembley this season, and it remains to be seen whether they can break the jinx on Saturday.
