Spurs will come up against Defoe and Bournemouth in the Premier League game at the Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday afternoon.
Defoe is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and is a key figure for the Cherries.
The 35-year-old former Spurs striker has scored just one goal in five Premier League starts for Bournemouth this season, but Spurs manager Pochettino has spoken highly of him.
“I think Jermain is a great, great striker too,” Pochettino told Football.London when asked about the duel between Kane and Defoe. “It’s true it's an exciting thing to see both great strikers on the pitch.”
Defoe knows the Premier League inside out and scored as many as 15 goals in the league for Sunderland last season.
The Black Cats got relegated to the Championship at the end of the 2016-16 campaign, but it was not fault of the ex-West Ham United star.
Although Spurs have a very strong defence, they need to be wary of Defoe and cannot afford to take his threat lightly.
Playing at Wembley will be special for the Cherries, and there is a chance that they could cause an upset and win against Spurs in London on Saturday afternoon.
