It is the transfer rumour which will not go away, and perhaps was inevitable to pop up during an international window.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane for the umpteenth time.
This would be more than double the fee they paid for Romelu Lukaku this summer, with transfer market values rocketing after PSG's big spending on Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
But of course with Lukaku already on board, there are questions whether United need Kane at all, despite his prolific goalscoring ability.
Tottenham Hotspur have repeatedly made clear they have no intention of letting the England international leave, especially for a Premier League rival.
Even £170 million is unlikely to be enough to make chairman Daniel Levy accept, especially after the difficulties the club experienced in replacing Gareth Bale four years ago.
United fans are far from convinced either, with a split reaction to the report...
Harry Kane is too good for Spurs, but £170m won’t get him, and it won’t be a United who gets him.— MUFC News Online (@Mufcnewsonline) October 12, 2017
Real Madrid £250m
Articles like this crack me up. Why would we be in the market for Harry Kane when we have Lukaku? https://t.co/HhLcN5oTRK— Nigerian God (@Echecrates) October 12, 2017
No chance that Spurs would sell him to United but I'd rather have Kane over Griezmann.— (Mkhit)ARYAN (@theunitedmanc) October 12, 2017
Having both Lukaku and Kane would be deadly. Too bad its just speculation https://t.co/8bCx5B8p8W— #FreeZimHipHop (@RasMallyc) October 12, 2017
