Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has praised St Mirren midfielder Lewis Morgan in Herald Scotland.

Rodgers made the comments about the 21-year-old midfielder while discussing the importance of young footballers playing with the football.

“The boy Lewis Morgan at St Mirren is quick, dynamic, can press, can run, can get at people,” Rodgers told Herald Scotland.

“Stuart Armstrong here, boys that are quick and can play. So you’ve got the players, it’s about how they are coached and how they are asked to play.”

Celtic's head coach Brendan Rodgers talks during a press conference in Brussels on September 26, 2017 on the eve of the Champions League group B) football match against RSC Anderlecht.

Morgan’s goals and general performance have been key in Jack Ross’s side moving to the top of the Scottish Championship table with 18 points from eight matches, a point clear of second-placed Dundee United.

It seems that Rodgers knows about Morgan, and perhaps Celtic could make a bid for the youngster in the January transfer window or next summer.

The Glasgow giants won the Scottish Premiership title last season and are aiming to do the same during the 2017-18 campaign.
