Richmond Boakye is a very good forward, and one can understand why Celtic are (reportedly) interested in signing the Red Star Belgrade star in the January transfer window.
The Ghana international, though, is also on the radar of Chelsea, Swansea City and Crystal Palace, according to The Daily Mail.
In fact, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte knows the forward from their days at Italian giants Juventus.
The Sun has claimed that Boakye is rated at £10 million, and one suspects that his price will rise if he continues to score goals between now and January.
Celtic are a massive club and have a strong following, but the lure of playing for Chelsea could be too tempting for Boakye.
After all, the forward would be playing in the most popular domestic league in the world and could also be fighting for the Champions League.
Moreover, Chelsea are financially superior to Celtic, who would not be able to pay the 24-year-old the kind of wages that the Blues could.
It would be better for Celtic if they look elsewhere for a forward, as chasing Boakye could be an exercise in futility.
