The Newcastle United man rejected a move away in the summer.
Massadio Haidara has posted a cryptic message on Instagram, possibly hinting at a return to action.
The Newcastle United left-back has not kicked a ball for the Magpies this season due to a knee injury.
He is expected to regain his fitness this month and the 24-year-old has taken to Instagram with a message which all but confirms this is the case.
Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez tried to offload the left-back this past summer but Haidara rejected a move to Saint-Etienne and an exit never materialised.
But it could wind up being a smart move by the former Nancy defender.
Benitez does not have a permanent left-back at the moment due to Paul Dummett's injury. Javier Manquillo, Jesus Gamez and Chancel Mbemba have all auditioned for the role but it remains to be seen whether Manquillo continues there after starting the 1-1 draw with Liverpool before the break.
But Haidara's imminent return gives the Newcastle manager another option. Whether he will be considered, time will tell.
