Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose is hoping to quit the club to join Manchester United, according to the Daily Star.

Rose has been out of action since January with an injury but is hoping to make his comeback later this month.

The left-back voiced his concern at Tottenham's refusal to pay big wages earlier this summer, and admitted he was keen on a move to the North.

Manchester United's left-back situation has been in flux this season with Luke Shaw no closer to reclaiming his place, and he could potentially be thrown into an offer to Spurs, where he could rejoin his former Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs have seen left-back Ben Davies step up in recent weeks, and Rose is not assured of his first team spot upon his return to fitness.

This has seen fan attitudes towards Rose change especially in light of his summer outburst, with the defender suddenly considered expendable by some, having been seen as a key first team player after his 2016 form.

United are currently ahead of Tottenham in the league table, with the teams set to play each other later this month.
